Servo Motor and Drive Compatibility Checklist
Review the complete motion system before ordering a motor, drive or replacement cable.
Identify both sides of the system
Record complete motor and drive ordering codes. Add controller interface details and existing firmware information if available. A drive and motor with similar headline ratings are not necessarily a supported pairing.
Review feedback and cabling
Identify the feedback type and the exact power, encoder and brake cables. Connector appearance alone does not establish pinout or compatibility. Use manufacturer documentation for the selected combination and cable length.
Check mechanical requirements
Document flange dimensions, shaft arrangement, brake requirement and the installed load. Include application information relevant to the machine designer. Mechanical fit and the required motion performance need separate checks.
Prepare a complete sourcing request
List motor, drive, cables and accessories as separate BOM lines. Flag whether each line is an exact replacement or a proposed alternative. Ask the responsible engineer to approve the final combination before ordering.
