PROCUREMENT GUIDE

Terminal Block Selection for Control Cabinets

Define terminal functions and accessories before comparing panel connection products.

Choose the required function

Separate feed-through, protective-earth and disconnect requirements. Identify circuit groupings and the number of connection points. Similar housing dimensions do not mean the terminals serve the same function.

Record conductor details

Specify conductor size and type, plus the intended termination preparation. Check the manufacturer data for compatible conductors and connection methods. Use the applicable installation instructions for the selected terminal.

Plan the complete rail assembly

List end plates, end brackets, jumpers and marking accessories where needed. Check the rail format and space available in the cabinet. Ordering the terminal body alone may leave the assembly incomplete.

Verify the final bill of materials

Confirm ratings, terminal function, quantity and accessory codes before purchase. Include a panel drawing or terminal schedule when available. Keep alternatives subject to electrical and mechanical review by the responsible designer.
